Make a night of it

  • Pumpkin soup or jacket potatoes first — hot food, low effort, nothing to clear up during.
  • Torches under blankets for the first ten minutes. It never fails.
  • Agree the bedtime before you press play, not after.

Every child's line is different, and the ratings only tell you so much. If you're unsure, watch the first ten minutes together before committing the evening to it.
