Garden jobs worth doing this SZN

Not a chore list — the handful of small jobs that make the most difference right now.

A garden doesn't need everything doing at once. Most seasons come down to three or four jobs that actually matter, and a lot of things that can wait.

The short list

  • Water containers properly — a long drink beats a daily splash
  • Deadhead anything flowering, which typically keeps it going for longer
  • Feed pots, since compost runs out of goodness within weeks
  • Pick what's ready before it goes over
  • Pull the weeds you can see in five minutes, and leave the rest

And then stop

The point of a garden isn't a finished garden. Once the short list is done, sit in it for ten minutes. That's the part people skip.

A note on timing

Timing can vary depending on where you live and local conditions — in cooler parts of the UK things often happen a little later.

Make it yours

Kept for later 🤎📸 Remember it

Kept ideas live in My Keeps, keep their category and season, and can be planned, lived and remembered later.

My SZN editorial inspiration — our own seasonal idea, not a listing for a verified external event.
